Nec renesas usb 3.0 driver 2040 drivers#
You try searching for Renesas 2.0.04.0, and tell me how many links you find to drivers with that version number on them. The only way you can find that file, is by looking for "Renesas 2.0.4".

Which means, the only way you can find out the version number, is if you were to install them BEFORE you installed 2.0.32.0.

Tell me how that filename equates to a driver version of 2.0.04.0?Īt no time during the installation of the drivers in that file, does it say, these drivers are version 2.0.04.0. What has math got to do with the fact the BlackmagicDesign specified 2.0.4.0, which is in fact, higher, than 2.0.32.0?ĭo you know what the filename is of those drivers? It is "RENESAS-USB3-Host-Driver- 2040-setup.exe", and you can find that file by looking for "Renesas 2.0.4". And when you do find them, it will tell you that the 2.0.32 drivers are newer. I'm going to give it another couple of days, but I can see this one heading back to the shop under the DSR.Īs a point of interest, if you read the docs that come with the shuttle, it says you need driver version 2.0.4 for the NEC chipset USB3.0 card. It's like a Ferrari bodyshell, with a VW Beetle engine underneath. I can't help but feel this is a pretty amateurish piece of kit (hardware & software), trying to pass itself off as something better than it really is. You shouldn't need to capture 100s of GB of HD video, to render out something smaller, that's just an inefficient process. Just because the input is in HD, it doesn't mean you always want the output to be in HD, so it should give you the option for half-size and quarter size captures at least. For £150, I would expect something a damn sight better than what the Shuttle and ME can do. I have a £20 Eas圜ap, that will let me capture in a whole range of formats and resolutions, regardless of what comes in as a signal. I have never in my life, heard of a capture programme that will only work, if the input and capture resolutions are the same. What I will say though, is Media Express is a pile of crap. Now I have to work out if it is the actual cable, or the length of the cable that is causing the problem.

I bought a 5m USB 3.0 cable, as my PC is on the opposite side of the room to what I want to capture from. 360 through HDMI, S-Video, component etc. I moved everything round the room, used the cable that came with it, and it all suddenly worked fine. It would work well enough to let the PC work out what was connected to it, but not to actually work. the black screen problem actually turned out to be the USB lead I was using.

now I just have to work out how to get something other than a black screen.ĭamn it all.

or another problem.Īnyone got a suggestion as to what I might try at all? I have updated the firmware on the PCI-e card, but I'm running out of options as to what else it could be, so any help is much appreciated.Įdit: NVM, I eventually pulled all the cards out of my motherboard, repositioned them in different slots, and I can now get into Media Express. So I don't know if it's a hard-coded specific driver requirement, and those drivers have their own problems. But those drivers do not exist on that site, and from what I can tell, pretty much any other site that had them linked. The one problem I have noticed, is that the docs that come with the shuttle, give you a link to the driver site, to download the 2.0.4 drivers for any cards using the NEC chipset (like the GA). If I put a USB 2.0 device in it, it works perfectly, but with the Shuttle, I just get confirmation that "the device is working correctly". The card is sat in a PCI-e 2.0 x16 slot, with the power connector firmly in place. Got the Shuttle drivers installed, everything shows it as working correctly, until I run BlackMagic Media Express, at which point, it says it there is no BlackMagic hardware in my system. I bought the Gigabyte GA-USB3.0 PCI-e card, which is one of the cards listed on the BlackMagic site. My MB is an Asus P6T, which is an x58 board. that's the bad (and seemingly common) part. Spent the best part of 4 hours trying to get the damned thing working. I never thought I would find anywhere that was trying to solve problems with this blasted device, but here we are.
